The Compassion Project: Help Us Find Those in Need

Why Giving Back Matters to Us

At the Dave Friedman Team, we believe success isn’t worth much unless it’s shared. As a business, we see it as our responsibility to support the community in real ways. That support can be financial, or it can be time and effort.

With more than 70 team members, we’re able to organize and step in on projects that truly help people.

How We Give Back

We’re a profitable company, and we choose to use part of those profits to support organizations and families in need. In some cases, donations go directly to families who are facing serious hardship.

But this isn’t just about us giving. We’re asking for your help too. Not for money, but for guidance on where help is needed most.

Real Stories, Real Impact

Many of our efforts begin with people like you who fill out our form and let us know about a family or organization in need.

One request told us about a family dealing with roof leaks after a hurricane. When we arrived, we discovered the roof had likely been leaking for nearly seven years. Two rooms were unusable, and children were sharing space because of it.

We took action.

·        Removed the entire roof

·        Rebuilt damaged rooms

·        Eliminated mold issues

·        Re-sheathed and re-roofed the home

We were able to do this for three families in one year. All because someone submitted an anonymous request.

Supporting Community Organizations

We also support organizations that play an important role in our community.

That support can include:

·        Donating items for nonprofit fundraisers and auctions

·        Providing direct financial support

·        Organizing our team to help with hands-on projects

We’ve worked with groups like the Charleston Waterkeepers, organizing 30 to 35 team members to help clean local waterways. We’ve also partnered with local orphanages multiple times, helping improve their facilities, complete landscaping projects, and donate items that help create a safe and joyful environment for kids.

Helping Beyond Our Backyard

Our commitment doesn’t stop locally. We’ve supported disaster relief efforts across the country and even internationally. In some cases, we didn’t just donate. We sent team members to help communities clean up and recover. We believe in showing up, especially when people need it most.

Everyday Acts of Kindness

Not every act of giving is big. Sometimes, it’s as simple as flowers to brighten someone’s day. Small gestures matter, especially for people going through hard times.

We try every day to be a positive presence in the community.

How You Can Help Us Help Others

Our goal isn’t only to make an impact ourselves. We want to inspire others to do the same. One act of kindness can lead to many more.

We have a form where you can submit anonymous requests for help. These can be for families, individuals, or organizations in need. We review each request and prioritize based on urgency and available resources. While we can’t help every situation, we work to help as many as possible.

If you know someone who needs support, or an organization doing great work but lacking resources, we want to hear about it.

Together, we can make Charleston, and the world, a little brighter every single day.
